PARKS.  POLICY.  PEOPLE.  UNITED TO SUPPORT AMERICA'S NATIONAL PARKS

America's Best Idea

ABOUT US

Founded in 2017, Unite for Parks is a grassroots 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the conservation, protection, and expansion of America’s National Parks. Built from the ground up, our work is rooted in community engagement, strategic advocacy, and a deep commitment to preserving our nation’s most treasured landscapes for future generations.

Among our most significant achievements, we ensured our national parks were fully funded in 2026 and completed the foundational work to advance the proposed Range of Light National Monument in California’s Sierra Nevada — a spectacular and ecologically rich landscape located between Yosemite and Kings Canyon National Parks.

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to ensure that America’s National Parks — both existing and yet to be created — are protected and sustained for the benefit of people and wildlife for all time. We believe that access to nature, thriving ecosystems, clean air and water, and the protection of democratic processes that safeguard these public lands are fundamental human rights. By advancing thoughtful policy and community-driven conservation, we work to protect human health, strengthen civic engagement, and safeguard the National Park System as a living legacy for future generations.

Beauty saves the world.

OUR WORK

We advance initiatives that preserve and restore the natural world, with a particular focus on strengthening and expanding the National Park System. We believe that lasting conservation depends on people & civic engagement.

To achieve this, we organize grassroots movements, train and empower advocates, conduct rigorous policy research, and collaborate with scientists, community leaders, and legislators. We developed broad support for a National Park unit in the Sierra Nevada through consistent outreach, integrating diverse input into a cohesive proposal.

Read about our conservation work in National Geographic, NPR, the San Francisco Chronicle, National Parks Traveler, Outside Magazine, and the San Jose Mercury News.
